The app
Get the app
WhipWorthy installs on your phone or computer straight from this website, not from the App Store or Google Play. It is free, it takes a few taps, and it is always the current version, so there is nothing to update.
- Free, nothing to pay
- No app store needed
- Takes almost no space

- Tap Add. WhipWorthy is now on your home screen and in your apps.
On a Galaxy Tab, Samsung Internet opens sites in desktop mode. The steps are the same.

- Click the install icon at the right end of the address bar, a small screen with an arrow. If it is not there, open the browser's menu and look for Install WhipWorthy.

In Safari on a Mac, choose File, then Add to Dock. Firefox cannot install sites as apps.

Good to know
- Car verdicts, recalls and complaints always load fresh from the federal data, so they need a connection. With no signal the app says so, with Try again and Back, and points you to the tools that still work.
- The link in a sign in email opens in your browser, not in the app. Finish signing in there, then switch back to the app. On iPhone and iPad the app keeps its own sign in apart from Safari, so your account may be easiest to use in Safari for now.
- Installing shares nothing new with us. What the site records is the same either way.
- To remove it, press and hold its icon and choose Remove App or Uninstall, as with any other app.
