Dec 19, 2025 · Recall 25V893000Park outside.NHTSA says: Away from buildings until it is fixed: a fire risk.
Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2022-2024 Tucson vehicles equipped with an optional Mobis tow hitch wiring harness. What can happen
Nonfunctioning trailer lights can increase the risk of a crash. A short circuit can increase the risk of a fire.
The fix
Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures until the recall repair is complete. Dealers will remove the trailer wiring harness and install a dust cap over the wiring receptacle, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 11, 2026. The bar holds the middle half of the complaints that gave a mileage; the dark mark is the middle one. 120 complaints of 389 gave one. Owners file when something fails, so this shows when problems were reported, not how long the cars last. These cars are young, so problems at higher miles have not had time to show.
EngineCostly7,000 to 50,000 mi
Half of these 46 complaints came between about 7,000 and 50,000 miles, the middle one around 25,000.

Our take: the data says look elsewhere.Owners filed 8.2 times the complaints of a typical year of this model, and one recall says park it outside until it is fixed.
Too young to judge at high mileage. Most 2022 cars have not reached 100,000 miles yet, so their problems past it have not shown up.
Unverified reports, not adjusted for sales. One complaint can name several parts, so shares add up past 100%. Filed Jun 22, 2021 to Oct 28, 2026. 39% name a part that is usually costly to fix.
